Eight Advisory supported SD Fiber Group on its acquisition by SPIE

SD Fiber Group, founded in Dietikon, Switzerland, specialises in the design, deployment and maintenance of fibre‑optic networks—covering fibre to the street (FTTS), building (FTTB) and home (FTTH)—and is also active in smart‑metering solutions across Switzerland and southern Germany.

SPIE, founded in France, is a leading independent European provider of multi‑technical services in energy and communications, with a workforce of around 55,000 and operations spanning numerous European countries.

This acquisition aims to enhance SPIE’s capabilities in fibre‑optic infrastructure and smart‑metering, bolstering its presence in Switzerland and southern Germany. SPIE will acquire a 96% stake in SD Fiber, with the balance retained by the existing management team, who will continue to lead operations and support the company’s future growth.
