Eight Advisory provided financial and tax buy-side due diligence services to infrastructure investor iCON Infrastructure Management V Limited (iCON Infrastructure) and its telecommunications company Strategic Fiber Networks on the acquisition of Northern Access GmbH (“Northern Access”) and GIM Glasfaser Infrastruktur Management GmbH (“GIM”)
Strategic Fiber Networks GmbH is a fast-growing telecommunications infrastructure provider specialising in the development and operation of fibre optic networks throughout Germany.
Northern Access and GIM are established regional providers of network infrastructure solutions in northern Germany, with a strong presence in Lower Saxony.
Strategic Fiber Networks GmbH group, which includes Northern Access and GIM as well as ropa GmbH, NGN Telecom GmbH, and Wisotel GmbH, has successfully expanded its network footprint across Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, and Lower Saxony.
The aim of the acquisition is to accelerate the roll-out of high-speed fibre optic networks in Lower Saxony and improve digital connectivity for both residential and business customers in the region. This strategic move is expected to strengthen Strategic Fiber Networks’ market position and contribute to the development of digital infrastructure in underserved areas.
