Strategy & Operations department boosted by market growth and singular positioning

Le pôle Strategy & Operations stimulé par la croissance des marchés et par son positionnement singulier.

The Strategy & Operations department, part of the Eight Advisory Transformation Division, has been undergoing sustained growth, thanks to 3 factors:

  • The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated companies’ repositioning process, with high demand for support for value creation plans, ambitious reorganisation and strategic transformation projects and reflection on business portfolios leading to numerous carve-outs
  • The M&A market is currently extremely active with considerable ground made up in 2021 on 2020, a year affected by a series of lockdowns, and numbers of transactions exceeding previous years by a considerable extent. In this context, the Strategy & Operations business kept pace with the growth in the number of Eight Advisory mandates, with significant demand for support in Operational Due Diligence, pre-transaction improvement drivers and Separation or Integration projects
  • In a world in which everything is speeding up, in which Data is essential, a singular Strategy & Operations positioning, with tools and methods taken from the turnarounds field, has enabled rapid execution, large gains and, among others, Data Analytics and Process Mining know-how.

Headed up by Nicolas Cohen-Solal, with the support of 10 partners, the Strategy & Operations department now counts over 70 consultants, allocated across the areas of expertise required, and 500 additional consultants from other Eight Advisory divisions. The Strategy & Operations offering is available regionally and within the various European offices, in Benelux, Germany and the UK. This Euro mix offers great synergies, with the sharing of expertise and complementarity between the different practices. This approach is very much part of the Eight Advisory DNA.

This sustained growth corresponds to market demand. In effect “Rather than calling on generalists, we have structured our Strategy & Operations teams around sectoral specialists and experts taken either from specialised consultancy firms, companies recognised in their sectors for the methods they use or strategy firms. Wherever and however we are called in to contribute, Turnarounds, Deals, or any other structural transformation, our clients rely on us for our expertise and for our results-orientated methods. The use of Process Mining for example helps us to leverage enormous gains in terms of depth of analysis, execution time and value for our clients,” explains Nicolas Cohen-Solal, the Eight Advisory partner heading up the Strategy & Operations department.
