Eight Advisory supported Beyond Law Group on the acquisition of Hawkswell Kilvington Construction Solicitors
Eight Advisory provided buy-side financial & tax due diligence and tax valuations services to Beyond Law Group, a portfolio company of Waterland Private Equity, as part of the transaction.
Beyond Law Group, founded in 2017, is the Manchester-based legal group behind award-winning practices including Beyond Corporate, McAlister Family Law, Home Property Law and Vault Private Client, has acquired leading construction law boutique, Hawkswell Kilvington. It has grown via a model of developing specialist legal practices under a single group, combining consumer and commercial legal services.
Hawkswell Kilvington Construction Solicitors, founded in 2005 in Leeds, operates as a specialist boutique in construction and engineering law. It offers both contentious and non-contentious services, advising contractors, developers and consultants on procurement, contract drafting, dispute resolution, and related areas.
The acquisition aims to bring together Hawkswell Kilvington’s nationally respected and award-winning team with Beyond Corporate’s construction team in order to establish a dynamic and strengthened national construction law offering. Hawkswell Kilvington becomes Beyond Law Group’s fifth specialist legal practice (named Hawkswell Kilvington Construction Law), operating from Manchester as well as its existing Leeds and London offices. The deal aligns with Beyond Law Group’s strategy of building specialist practices, and will immediately provide both teams with a strong growth platform: the added 20-strong team boosts the group’s headcount to over 130, with projected revenues expected to exceed £20 million in this financial year.
