Eight Advisory supported CKW AG as part of its acquisition of Wärmeverbund Uettligen

Eight Advisory provided commercial, technical, and financial due diligence as part of the transaction.
The CKW, a subsidiary of Axpo Group, is a leading Swiss provider of integrated energy and building technology solutions. The company supplies over 200,000 end customers with electricity. In addition, it offers innovative products and services throughout Switzerland in the areas of electrical engineering, photovoltaics, heating technology, e-mobility, building automation, ICT solutions and security.
On August 27, 2024, CKW AG acquired Fernwärme Uettligen AG. As part of the Axpo Group, CKW, the Central Swiss energy provider, is committed to a CO2-friendly heating strategy. The previous operator and majority shareholder, a energie AG, will continue to manage and maintain the heating network on behalf of the new owner. CKW, meanwhile, will focus on modernizing the systems and expanding the district heating network. Since September 2019, the Uettligen heating network has been supplying customers with CO2-free heat, with continuous expansion of the network since its inception.
This acquisition further strengthens CKW’s expanding portfolio of district energy networks. As a key partner in decarbonization, CKW already operates several district heating networks in Central Switzerland and is actively developing new projects.
Eight Advisory team has supported CKW with the strategic and transactions services.
The team in charge of commercial, technical, and financial due diligence was composed of:
- Kai Karring (partner),
- Patric Roth (Partner),
- Antriksh Singh (Director), and
- Thomas Lagler (Senior Manager).
