Eight Advisory supported Laboratoires Bailleul on its sale to Giuliani Pharma
Eight Advisory provided financial vendor due diligence services to Laboratoires Bailleul as part of the transaction.
Laboratoires Bailleul, founded in 1949, is a pharmaceutical company specialising in the development and marketing of pharmaceutical products, food supplements and dermo-cosmetic products. The company operates through a network of direct subsidiaries in France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Greece, and the Czech Republic, complemented by two extra-European hubs in Hong Kong and Mexico, as well as an international distributor network, particularly active in China and the Middle East. With the support of its new Italian family shareholder, the company aims to accelerate its development in key markets and expand its geographic reach to become a pan-European leader.
Giuliani Pharma is a 100 % Italian pharmaceutical company with a heritage that dates back to 1889, when Dr Germano Giuliani acquired the Antica Farmacia del Lazzaretto in Milan, which marked the start of its scientific endeavours. The entity was incorporated as Giuliani S.p.A. in 1942. Over its long history, Giuliani has developed expertise in gastroenterological, dermatological and trichological fields, and holds numerous patents across Europe and beyond.
The transaction aims to combine Bailleul’s strong presence in dermatology, consumer health and its pan-European footprint with Giuliani’s R&D capabilities, brand portfolio and Italian market strength. The purpose is to create a more resilient, innovation-led platform that can compete at scale across Europe, drive synergies in product development and distribution, and accelerate growth in adjacent markets.
