Eight Advisory supported CMA CGM in the acquisition of La Tribune
Eight Advisory has supported the acquisition of the digital business newspaper La Tribune by CMA-CGM, the world leader in maritime transport and logistics.
The acquisition confirms the Group’s diversification strategy and, in particular, consolidates the media portfolio of the CMA-CGM Media division headed by Laurent Guimier, former head of news at France Télévisions.
CMA- CGM already had a firm foothold in the media world, having taken over La Provence and Corse-Matin last October and acquired shares in the M6 Group and the online video medium Brut at the beginning of April.
The shipping company has now taken another step forward with the official announcement – on Friday, May 26 – of a commitment to acquire 100% of the capital of the group HIMA, owner of the business-only newspaper La Tribune.
La Tribune is present in no less than 17 locations in France and Africa and has a turnover of 12 million euros in 2022.
