Eight Advisory assisted the Galeries Lafayette group in its acquisition of the capital of the La Redoute group.
Created 128 years ago, the Galeries Lafayette group is the leading “department store” in terms of sales. The group offers more than 2,000 brands in 290 stores underpinned by values of collective commitment and a taste for excellence. The Galeries welcome more than 60 million visitors each year.
La Redoute is a French e-commerce company specializing in ready-to-wear and home decoration. Founded in 1837, it was originally a woolen mill. Today, the brand has 10 million customers. In 2020, its business volume reached €1046 million thanks to its e-commerce site and its model image driven by its CSR policy.
Galeries Lafayette has acquired 51% of the company’s capital and is aiming for 100%. The merger will create a new leader in omnichannel commerce and accelerate the digital transformation of Galeries Lafayette.
The Eight Advisory team was composed of Eric Demuyt, Florence Khayat and Charles Frassaint.
