Eight Advisory continues to expand with the launch of its Actuarial practice 

In tandem with its expansion internationally and regionally within France, Eight Advisory continues to broaden its range of services to the financial services sector and in particular the insurance sector. 

With the appointment of François Beugin as a Partner specialising in actuarial services, the firm is set to develop this new activity, with a particular focus on transactions linked to the insurance and financial services sector. 

François Beugin is a certified actuary with a Master’s degree in Economics, Finance and Actuarial Science from ENSAE (2000) and a master’s degree in Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique (1998). He has extensive experience in corporate finance, risk management and insurance, and gained solid expertise in mergers and acquisitions during his time at Oliver Wyman as well as in his previous roles at investment banks. François is an experienced professional whose work spans the interface between finance and actuarial science. 

His team will consist of managers, seniors and analysts with the aim of growing to around ten people by the end of 2024. The team will provide support for transactions (vendor due diligence, actuarial and risk due diligence, actuarial reviews, valuation) and all major equity transactions. This new offer complements the firm’s existing transactional services and brings significant added value in securing these transactions in the insurance sector. 

This offer is also geared towards the ecosystem associated with the insurance sector, in particular brokers, partners and distributors, insurtechs, neo-insurers, asset managers, investment funds, infrastructures, etc. More generally, risk assessment and management can also be applied to large corporates, e.g. captive insurers and (re)insurance programmes. 

The actuarial team also provides state-of-the-art actuarial services in the area of risk management and quantification of insurance risks as well as advanced technical and actuarial modelling. All in all, the practice will be able to tackle even the most complex technical issues faced by players in the insurance sector.
