Support to Thales Group in the sale of its aeronautical electrical systems business to Safran
Eight Advisory assisted the Thales group in the sale of its aeronautical electrical systems business to Safran.
Safran has entered into exclusive negotiations with Thales to acquire its aeronautical electrical systems business.
Thales is a world leader in high technology with more than 81,000 employees in 68 countries. The group invests in digital and deep tech innovations – connectivity, big data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and quantum. It offers solutions, services and products in the fields of defense, aeronautics, space and digital identity and security. In 2021, the Group generated sales of €16.2 billion.
Safran is an international high-technology group operating in the aerospace (propulsion, equipment and interiors), space and defense sectors. The group is present on all continents, with nearly 76,800 employees and a turnover of 15.3 billion euros in 2021. Safran Electrical & Power is one of the world’s leading suppliers of electrical systems for the aerospace industry.
This transaction will enable Thales to refocus on its core businesses of aerospace, defense, identity and digital security and Safran to continue its development in aircraft electrification.
